Winder Dairy!

December 2008
I love traditions at Christmas, I look forward to them every year and I am always so excited to start new ones. I have read about some of my friends traditions on their blogs and I am so excited to try some of them next year. Like using only wrapping paper that represents the savior and the true meaning of Christmas (Thanks Tiffany great idea) etc. One of our family's favorites is visiting Winder Dairy every year. Usually we go for FHE but it is always so crowded that we decided to try a different night and I think Rob and I mutually decided that another night is what we do from now on! No hour or more line, we just walked right up to the front, no waiting for a table, got one easy. Santa and Mrs. Clause were not busy at all, my kids talked their ears off! It was great! There isn't much better than seeing some nice Christmas lights, visiting Santa and Mrs. Clause and getting a candy cane, and eating scones and hot chocolate! Not to mention Rob usually gets some egg nog for later too. Complete Bliss! And of course lot's of laughs to go along with it!

Megan on Santa's lap. She wants a Fur real friend animal, and a doll house!

Katie talking to santa, She wants the same thing Megan wants a fur real friend animal and a doll house. When she was all done though she said "but you can bring me whatever you want". Mrs Clause thought that was the sweetest thing.

Justin apparently wanted to be very secrative in his telling. He had a lot to say though. When he was done I asked him what he asked for and he said first I told him I wanted some of Santa's real magic, but Santa said no, so then I told him ok I would like a race track with cars then! Santa said he could do that. Later on after Justin was done with his scone he went back over and talked to Mrs Clause for about 10 minutes, I have no idea what he was telling her but he was very into it. I think he was very excited to see them! He also informed me that they got the kids cards and what they wanted in the mail, he asked and they said so.

Making Gingerbread Houses!

December 2008
Tonight for Family Home Evening we helped the kids make gingerbread houses. It was so much Fun and the kids had been so excited all day to do them. Justin and Katie were so into them and Megan once something got put on basically got taken right back off and into her mouth, she just enjoyed eating it. It was fun though.

Today we were at Rob's grandpas he has an old truck Rob is buying from him and while the boys went to clean it out Megan, Katie and I were having fun taking some silly and cute pics. These 2 girls are starting to have such a good friendship and special bond together that I love.

sillyism for Katie!

December 2oo8, the other day Katie came in our room all dressed up in her Cinderella costume. Moments later in came Megan in her winter coat and sandals. So Rob looks at Katie and asks her "who are you" she responded "a princess" then Rob says to Katie then who is Megan and she says "just a human"! We thought it was pretty funny!

Preschool Christmas Program!

December 2008
Today was Katie's preschool Christmas program. They sang several songs, acted out the Christmas story, had deserts and exchanged gifts. They had so much fun and they all did a great job too. Even the girls siblings helped out too.

The kids in costume after acting out the Christmas story! Katie was a shepherd with Megan, and Justin was Joseph. Brooklynn was a wise man and Jade was Mary!

Exchanging gifts. We also made fruity pebble wreaths they handed out to the moms.

Christmas clock!

December 2008
My mom gave our family a Christmas clock that sings a new Christmas song on every hour. Every time it goes off all three of them run to the hall to watch it and listen to the song. Megan gets very upset if she misses it actually. I never thought a clock could be so entertaining.
All lined up in the hall!

Kids by tree!

December 2008
Today after church I sat the kids in front of the tree to see if I could catch some good pictures and they were so good. It usually takes tons of pictures and pleading to get the kids to all smile and look good. Today they did these shots in like 2 minutes and they looked so cute. Merry Christmas! And thanks kids, you look great!

Playing around!

December 2008
Last night the kids had a sleep over, this morning I looked up and Justin was giving the girls rides on the wood floor. They were laughing so hard and having such a great time!

Katie dancing at Festival of trees!

December 4, 2008

Tonight Katie performed at the festival of trees. They all did such a good job and Katie did most of the dance, she played with her hat for a lot of it. She looked great and we were so proud of her.

Katie is the one on far left.

Katie beforehand

In costume, she was so excited. They did the cutest dance to a song called I'm gonna lasso Santa Clause. It was so perfect for these little kids and the actions were great. Even though she didn't do all the dance on stage she would for me and so for her first stage appearance she did great. She kept telling me "I did it all by myself mom".

Final cake from class!

Choo Choo!

December 2008
Katie and Megan were so funny today. I put batteries in the train that goes around the bottom of our tree and they would laugh and get so excited. Megan would stand up and move her arm choo-choo then lay on her tummy and kick her feet every time the train came around. It was quite comical to watch them!

Putting up the Tree!

November 2008
At our house we set up the Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving each year. Here are some of my little helpers. Justin was downstairs with the men working on the basement but he came up and helped occasionally too. We had a really fun time.

Finishing the Basement! Yeah!

November 2008
The day after Thanksgiving Rob, his brother Scott, Dad & Justin all started to work on the basement. While the girls and I decorated upstairs. We decided with another baby on the way we would need a couple more rooms sooner than later. So off they went. They framed in the closets, the storage room and one bedroom and it looks so different. Thanks everyone for the help so far. Little by little!
