It's December!

December 2007

Justin, Megan & Katie

There is such a magic about the holidays that I love. It has been such a fun December watching my kids get excited about Christmas and getting everything ready. I have been so busy that it has been hard to keep up on the blog, but we are all enjoying our holiday so much. The kids love doing the countdowns till Christmas, the secret santas, and the 12 days of Christmas. I think Justin has wrapped more of his homemade gifts than I have and he is really loving it. I just might get him to start wrapping all my presents since he does such a good job. Anyway I thought they looked so cute by the tree.

Rob's asking for it now!

December 2007
Tonight after one of our huge snowstorms (and our ward Christmas party) Rob, my brother Brandon and their friend Dax went on a midnight... well....extravaganza. They started out shoveling one another's driveways, then the neighbors driveways, that quickly turned into a snowball fight with our neighbors across the street (mom and 3 teenage daughters). Then they got this idea to build a giant snowman (or 2) on our neighbors driveway. And this photo actually doesn't do it justice. This was after the teenagers knocked the top off and threw giant snowballs at it. They said they weren't done but they saw them drive in and so they ran away before getting done. The best part was though they shoveled the driveway all the snow to build the snowman was used off the grass so it didn't look like they had any snow. After this they decided to go over to another families house and build another snowman on their roof and then color it red (they are big BYU fans) with koolaid. When they got there though they weren't quite sure how to get on the roof so they decided to do something else instead... (see pictures below).

They decided to srart by building a snowman and put it on their porch in front of the large lit up Y in the house. This was a huge snowman too. You actually can't see it in this picture since the U covers it up. Well after doing the snowman they just didn't think that was good enough so they decided to build a giant U of U on their front lawn and driveway (now again this photo doesn't do this justice, it was huge, at least twice Rob's height). They said they had so much fun and here I was at home thinking they were out shoveling walks. One of their neighbors watched them out his window and even got it on video, he said it was unbelievable and at first was wondering what in the world they were up too. But once it started to take shape he thought it was really amazing. Rob walked in past 2 am and just laughing said...you have got to drive over and see what we did. When he told me I thought ok, but when I saw it I just had to laugh and congratulate them on a job well done. GO UTES!!! It was really great. The best part was the following day and Sunday at church We had so many people saying, "why didn't you call me" and "that was so awesome, great job" etc etc. The family did knock it down and turn it into a y sadly enough. But even weeks later people are still commenting about it. They say that they are planning something to get us back so we are just waiting for it. Rob says that's ok, it was well worth it.

Silly at bedtime

December 2007
Tonight Justin and Katie were being so silly at bedtime. I was sure they would never fall asleep. They were up giggling and laughing for a while. You would think after such a long day they would crash. But somehow at bedtime they get this bit of energy and they want to play. Sometimes I come in and they have the whole room set up with all their animals, and beds made up for them etc. And other nights we put them to bed and they are out in a few minutes. They sure do love sharing a room though. We have begun to let Katie know that eventually she will share a room with her sister and she doesn't like that idea at all, and neither does Justin.

So blessed.

December 2007
I had the kids dressed up tonight, and they just looked so cute. Rob and I are so blessed and so lucky to have 3 such great kids. It doesn't take Christmas to remind me of that, I am blessed to see it every day. Thanks for being so great and teaching me so much. I love watching all three of them grow, learn and play together. I love how much Katie looks up to her brother and follows him everywhere, and how great Justin is with her. They have such a great relationship and one I hope they will always treasure. I can see it in Megans eyes allready how much she watches her older brother and sister and wants so much to play with them. Soon little one soon.

Growing up!

December 2007
Megan is growing up so fast and it is so fun to see her little personality start to develop. Such a giggly girl and so fun. She says ma ma now too and loves to be held. Mom is in love with her cute curls (not natural I have to sponge curl them), but I think they look so darling on her. She loved this bell around her neck and would cry if I took it away from her. She is starting to scoot around on her behind and in the first stages of wanting & trying, yet failing to crawl. Sooner than I think I will be putting up gates and babyproofing everything a foot off the ground again.

Work Party

November 30th, 2007
Sorry I know this is a little out of order but I neglected to share an awesome night of food, fun friends & dancing. Rob's work always put together such a great Christmas party every year at the Joseph Smith Memorial building. They had a great dinner and after they had dancing and it was really a lot of fun. Rob was still really sick but he was such a trooper. He is a really great dancer and so we had a lot of fun. I have been trying to learn some more swing, ballroom, cha cha, and fox trot so it was a lot of fun to try some of the moves. We even did some country swing and polka. I am still learning more and really enjoying it. He is constantly teaching me and some of our favorite date nights are dancing around our basement to Michael Buble after the kids have gone to bed. SO FUN!!! I love it. A special thanks to my sister Shannon, she came out and played with the 3 little ones so we could go. They all had a great time with her and couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had.

Ward party

December 8 2007

Today was the ward Christmas party. Here Justin is singing with some of the other primary kids (in striped shirt front). The theme was Christmas around the world and it was really cute. We all had a great time.

Shower Caps!

November 2007,
Kids can be so cute and so funny, I can't help but laugh along with them. This night the kids were in getting ready for bed (I thought) I was in my room, they came running in with Katie's pull ups on their heads. They were dancing around and singing. When I asked them what they were doing they said showering, and these were their shower caps! I was on the floor laughing. It was really hilarious! Silly kids!

Swimming

November 2007

Rob and I joined a gym (Lifetime Fitness)
in the first of October and
we have really enjoyed it. The kids have too. This is the kids swimming one day. They have a water slide but the picture didn't work out, Justin loved this. I had a picture of Megan and I also but it wouldn't post the picture rotated so I just deleted it. She loved the water and I was suprised how long she swam. Katie and Justin are also little fishes. As you can see they loved the water and have been begging us to go back. Katie kept walking out too deep and would start to float on her back she DID NOT like that. Other than that she enjoyed it. We are hoping to go again tomorrow now that our 4 weeks of sickness are over. We had a flu that went from one to the next in our house for over 4 weeks straight and it was awful. I am glad to be away with it now. I missed working out and I was glad to get back to my kickboxing and other clasees this week.

Da Da

My little baby is growing like a weed and she has said her first word this week Da Da she repeats it over and over again. All 3 of my kids said Da Da before Ma Ma, I know that it's easier and all that but I'm the one with her all day! Just Kidding, I don't mind good job lilttle girl! This was one of her 6 month pictures isn't she adorable!

Soap

So this is my funny story for the week. We were in the car the other day and Justin was saying a word I wasn't super happy about (not too bad just not one I liked) I told him if he said it again I would wash his mouth out with soap. Well he didn't say it again and so I kind of forgot about the whole thing. When we got home he ran inside and I wondered what he was doing but by the time I got Katie and Megan out of the car and in the house I didn't think anything of it. Later that night when we were getting into bed Rob pulled down the sheets and found a "bar of soap" not exactly sure what to think he brought it to me and asked me what this was all about and told me where he found it. I just started to laugh and quite honestly I can't help but chuckle now typing this. I guess my son outsmarted me at least so he thought. He ran in and slid the soap under the sheets so I couldn't wash his mouth out. Why our bed I'll never know, and why he thought that was the best hiding spot I don't exactly get either, but if nothing else it was sure a good laugh.

I've been tagged

Ok, Ookie here it goes. So I have been tagged to tell 6 habits or things about myself, hopefully some of you will learn something new about me if not so sorry.
1- I love to cook, especially to try new things. (but I don't like to clean up after). We have had some good ones but some have been a disaster. If you have a great recipe, share I would love to try it.
2- I love a clean house. Clutter really drives me nuts. (only in my own house though I don't seem as bothered by this in other homes). I feel like I am always cleaning, probably because I am.
3- Bargains are my friends. If you know a great deal pass it on, me too!!!! Many people ask me how I shop and what my strategies are, many can't believe it. (I am especially good at buying food, what can I say I love it).
4- I love to ballroom dance, I am not that good but Rob is awesome. And to be honest I just love to try. If you haven't given it a shot, do, you'll love it too.
5- I love to travel, I haven't done nearly enough but I hope to be able to do a lot some day. My favorite vacation spot is DISNEYLAND!! I would go with my family every year if we could. We went while I was pregnant with Megan and it was the best family vacation I have ever had.
6- I love to play with my kids toys, I don't know if it just makes me feel like a kid again or what. Especially with my kids. Like house, barbies, trains, doing puzzles, swinging, playing in the sand, house, etc. I love to watch their imaginations at work. It is just so great. Maybe this is why I love Disneyland so much and Christmas morning, because I get to be a kid again.

Ok so there you have it. Steph, Shannon, C. Troi, Quimby, everyone at Rob's work that read my blog, & Tracy. Good luck I can't wait to see what I can learn about you.

Happy Halloween!

My Three cute kids in their halloween costumes.

Megan was a pig and she looked absolutely adorable! She even had a little cold so she kind of snorted it was perfect.

Katie was a UofU cheerleader and she was so excited. Out next door neighbor who tends the kids for us is a cheerleader and she saw this costume and said she wanted to be a cheerleader like Melia.

Justin wanted to be so many things he had a hard time deciding on just one. But when it came down to the deciding time he chose to be an indian, and he sure did look great.

Megan and mom stayed home to pass out the candy to everyone. She came to the door with me whenever the kids came, and everyone thought she was soooo cute. But eventually it was all just too much for her and she tuckered out. She looked so cute asleep in her costume I had to take this picture.

Rob and the kids coming home from trick-or-treating. They were so excited to show me what they got!

And here it is, ahh sweet success. Mom and dad checking the candy, and then of course allowing them to eat some of it before they got ready for bed. Happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday Great Grandma although she is gone now I always think of her on halloween since that was her birthday. She was a scorpio like me and I love and miss her a lot. This is one of my favorite pictures with her just after Katie was born in june (4 generations). She passed away later that year in October.

Pumpkin Carving!

Rob with kids carving our pumpkin!

Justin and Katie pulling out the insides. They thought this was really fun, a little weird in between their fingers but still had a great time.

Hi Cutie

A cute shot of Megan. I love this little girl so cute and smily. She truly is a great baby.

On your mark, get set, go....

In October I was in charge of pack meeting for the scouts. We had all kinds of fun activities for the boys to do. Such as; donut on a string, bobbing for apples, learning about how to make wheat & making butter, and a jello slurping contest. This is a photo of myself and 2 of the other leaders who all participated in a jello slurping contest. I so lost, I am not a jello slurperI know that now. But it was still fun.

Random photos of the family

Today was Braidens baby blessing. Here are some photos.
Rob and Scott

The kids were putting wood chips down the drain and for some reason they said they were water buffalos? I have no idea but I thought they were so cute.

Our family

Katie being silly, oh the joys of being a kid. I just smiled and inside hoped she wouldn't have any grass stains on her dress.

Playtime!

I love playing with the kids, and best of all I love watching them play. Today we pulled out the wooden train set and for some reason they like playing in the front room the best (who knows why, maybe because it's usually forbidden) but I allowed it today and we played and played for hours. We each took turns with the diferent trains and pushing all the buttons etc. even Megan had fun. I feel like such a kid. Thanks kids for keeping me young. I love you guys.

Happy Birthday Nicole!

October 23, 2007 Today was my birthday. My kids and husband are so great they made me breakfast in bed and decorated with tp all over the house. And best of all I got money so I went shopping!! Yeah, I have had lot's of fun buying some much wanted decor for the house. I turned 31 today wow, I sure feel old. That's ok though I enjoy each year.

1st Snowfall!!!

So the kids were so excited to get out into the snow today. It snowed for the first time this year on a Sunday so the kids had to wait until monday to go out and play and most of it was melted but they were up and ready bright and early. They had so much fun and were out there most of the morning. Oh how I wish to be a kid again in moments like these.

7 years

October 4, 2007

I have been so busy I haven't had time to update my blogg. But I just wanted to say that I am the luckiest wife ever. On the 4th we celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. I can't say enough about Rob. He is the greatest husband, a very hard worker, never stops putting a smile on my face, devotes 100% to everything he does, and he is a terrific dad. Thanks for being so great I love you a ton. For our anniversary Rob & I went to dinner to one of my favorite restaurants Texas Roadhouse and then to the temple.

She has so much hair!

Our sweet Megan is so adorable and the first thing everyone tells me when they see her is "look at all that hair" well it's true you have a ton of hair and so I decided to try curling it today. You looked adorable (a lot like your aunt Shannon too). You also have 2 new teeth in this picture.
Smile Megan you have 2 new teeth. Cute curls too.
